Looking for VPS in european datacenter

Posted by popnoart, 04-18-2016, 06:03 AM
Hi, I'm right now with a VPS-2 with KnowHost, it's almost 2 years with them and I'm very happy. But recently Europe has invalidated Safe Harbour agreement with USA, and the new agreement Privacy Shield is still too new. So as an european business I think is time to move there. I'm looking for a managed vps, with cpanel, probably 1024mb of ram is enough (only two sites, 2.000 visits per day), 25gb of space if posible (moving images to a cdn would allow me asking for less, so it's not required).Money limit would be 35 €/$ per month. I know about Future Hosting, I think is a good option. I was with them before KnowHost, but had to move becouse some of my spanish users had problems reaching my site in London datacenter (internet provider was to blame, probably). So I want to explore other options. Thanks a lot!

So, you are just looking for a Europe location or a provider that is based on Europe? 2 different things.

I'm looking for a VPS in a datacenter in Europe. Doesn't matter from where is the company, only that the VPS is fisically in Europe.

I recommend you take a look at HostDime UK VPS. They are a good provider and I am sure they can take care of you. http://www.hostdime.co.uk/managed-vps-hosting/ - Daniel

Have you tried with Vultr? They don't have managed I guess. But their servers are nice. I have also read positive reviews about TMZVPS and EuroVPS. Don't have any personal experience with these two though.

Hola popnoart, I was on a situation similar to that one years ago, when the Safe Harbour agreement was something still very new and not very clear yet to me, and I decided to move back to a hosting company in Europe. After that I had some bad experiences in France, also in Spain, and at the end I moved definitely to Germany. There are many good companies there, of course also in other countries, but I think that you can find very good value for you money there, similar to what you can find in USA (I think that many of us turned our hosting lives to USA based on the huge differences on what you could get there and in Europe, on the early days, for the same money). I have been there in Germany with a very big company, and then with a small company for 4 years, and for the first and the longest time in my live, switch hosting company it is not among my planned things to do on the short run anymore. I am on a bare unmanaged VPS for quite less that your budet. What I don't know it is if their managed service is on your budget, but I think so. You can check with them, first-root.com Mucha suerte and kind regards from Spain,

In my 7th year with FH......and nobody has ever had a problem connecting from Spain. If you have had problems then you can be sure those Telefonica clowns won't be far away.

It'll definitely be Telefonica.......they're always touching the eggs!
