Need help finding a good server

Posted by ZBORIL, 04-14-2016, 07:59 AM
so i currently have a server on vultr, and there internet speeds are pretty slow for me around 250mpbs up and down. i need around 1gbps, 4 cores and 8gb ram. i would really like to pay hourly because what i plan on running on the server i only need to run for short amounts of time. if anyone knows any good sites that meets my needs please let me know, thanks!

What exactly are you planning to run? that requires 1Gbps at full capacity and for just short periods of time. By the sound of things you'll probably need a dedicated 1Gbps connection.

a sneaker bot if you know what that is, i dont need 1gbps all the time just around that would be fine.

Generally the 1GB port is shared between all of the VPSs on the node. You can also ask Vultr to see if they're rate limiting your VPS. What I mean is that DDoS protection sometimes limits traffic because it can trigger an event. Your request for hourly billing will be limited to cloud providers and not just VPSs.

If you are looking to go with a VPS then it is difficult to find a host that can provide you 1 Gbps or its near by connection. What is budget for such VPS?

i dont need full 1gbps, just 700mpbs+, and i dont really have a budget for this, i would really like to pay hourly if possible.

Most VPS servers are connected at a minimum of 1Gbps, the issue is that connection is shared by all the VPSes on it. You will need to find a VPS where you get dedicated CPU as this limits the total number of VPSes that can be on a single server, therefor giving you better access to the Network Connection.

do you happen to know any dedicated vps's that charge hourly?

I have not see any provider offer dedicated CPU cores at an hourly rate, more then likely due to the extra expense of having a core dedicated to a client, and if they are not using it during a period of time, then you can not resell those CPU cycles to another client like you can in Shared Cores.

Vultr has horrible bugs like nasty network response times and incorrect DNS which all factor into a miserable experience. Use Linode for robust network and device performance and use EC2 for security related products. EC2 is a little slow but they are also PCI compliant and very solid.
