a server without censorship?

Posted by syscode, 03-04-2014, 08:54 AM
Hi, Am having difficulties with my current USA based provider because some of my clients do art works that deal with american drones/terrorism/etc.. Wondering if anyone knows of providers in a free, perhaps more freedom loving, territory, which will allow the, err, 1st amendment.. Perhaps a European based..? Any suggestions? Cheers! xx

Use EuroVPS for this. That kind of thing is right up their alley.

If you're meaning what I think you're meaning, I'd likely allow it, and some of the hosts out of the southern US would also be willing.... Look for Florida and Texas servers. I wouldn't mind seeing what you're talking about. Canada would also be another option.

For this type of thing I'd avoid the USA both as a hosting location and as the primary business location of the hosting provider. @kpmedia's recommendation of EuroVPS sounds like a great fit, their hosting is based in Amsterdam (I think).

I'll vouch for this one with Kpmedia.

sounds promising! thanks will check the links and email people.. from tos, they all make it sound a bit official.. unclear what exactly is illegal.. currently, as mentioned, some content seems unwelcomed for some people because its disturbing them. however, i have a feeling the disturbing feeling prevented some to realise not all the content is under legal definitions of copyright. i hope people do not censor based on that, ala youtube and others..

That fact that the content disturbs some people doesn't make it illegal and shouldn't give your provider the right to give you difficulties. I know I certainly don't agree with all the opinions and content in the websites which we host but if there is no law to say it cannot be published then there is nothing I can do.
