Eleven2 - Ongoing Problems

Posted by Roscolo, 02-15-2014, 06:25 AM
I have been with Eleven2 for years, going back to Sharkspace. Used to be so great. For the past several weeks there have been ongoing problems with site access, email access, can't log in to accounts. Anyone else with Eleven2 having problems?

Have you tried contacting support? Try explaining your situation to them. They are bound to help you...

Best thing was to contact their support directly and explain your issues on their helpdesk. So then can investigate on their end to clear all issues. WHT isnt their help desk. Have you tried reaching to their support before posting this thread?

Yes. I have contacted support several times over the last 2-3 weeks. Probably opened more tickets in the last 2-3 weeks than the last few years combined. The same problems are recurring, and that's the big problem, that it's the same issues. Back in the days of Sharkspace, if there was a problem (rarely), it got fixed and stayed fixed. Now it's day-to-day I'm wondering if my sites are up, if I can log in to accounts, log in to email. Haven't opened a ticket because they request that no one open a ticket at this time, so at least they recognize they have problems. Lately the problems just seem to be the same problems, happening with more regularity, and they don't seem to stay fixed.

If i were you, i would pack up and migrate somewhere else depending on the problem. What kind of problems are you facing?

Posted by Roscolo, 02-15-2014, 06:57 AM
I hear you. I'm getting to that point, but I'm trying to give them every opportunity to work it out. Problems have been some downtime of sites, but big problem has been access to email accounts, and inability to access Cpanels and WHM.

Posted by ServerSam, 02-15-2014, 07:19 AM
Agreed . It is good to give them an opportunity. Maybe, request your site to be moved to another server? That usually helps solve particular issues. Your ip might has been blocked by their firewall which could be the reason why you cannot access cPanel/WHM. Good luck getting things sorted

That may be because of cPanel inbuilt security feature cPHulk Brute Force Protection. It blocks your IP access to only webmail/cPanel/WHM after many(3-10) invalid login attempts.

What hosting are you on, UK or USA? There UK side from my experience has been up and down the last week or so.

I don't think this is the case here. If it was, his hosting provider would have been easily able to resolve that.

Sorry to hear about your issues with E2. I'm sure @Nick H will be here shortly to shed some more light on the situation.

I would contact them to see about getting moved to a different server, E2 support is normally pretty good you may just have been placed on a server which requires more attention. It could be your IP gets blocked but would be strange how it happens so frequent, are you a reseller or shared hosting? does anyone else have issues accessing your web site/emails.

I have Reseller account. 24 hours later, still no WHM access with Eleven2. When I attempt to submit a support ticket, get this message: "Please Note: We are aware of an issue with one or more of your services, we are currently working on correcting this. Please refrain from submiting tickets at this time. You can view our network status page for updates on this issue while we are working on it. Thanks!" Unfortunately, for over 24 hours now, the network status page has not been updated and says: "We are experiencing some issue with the server now. Our senior admins are working on this now. We will keep you updated here." Eleven2 has slipped big time. Guess it's time to start looking for a new host. Last edited by Roscolo; 02-15-2014 at 04:49 PM.

Have you tried phoning them? Or PMing Nick on here. He's probably the best rep at E2 that I know of.

Posted by Roscolo, 02-15-2014, 04:55 PM
I haven't phoned them. Tried following the instructions they gave me above to not open a support ticket. But figured after 24 hours, I may as well open a ticket. So I've done that. My experience has been that support tickets and emails are way more efficient than phone calls. Waiting to hear back from them now.

Sorry to hear you're having issues. What is your Ticket ID? I will see what I can do to get it expedited for you.

Nick, thank you. My problem with access appears to be resolved for now.

Glad to hear! Feel free to PM me or email me directly (nick.hudson@eleven2.com) and I will be happy to see if I can provide a more permanent solution for you. Thanks!

Thanks for sharing your review. I'll write my own, but just to add, I had constant issues with Eleven2, and it went no where for nearly 1 year, finally moved out. Even though I had paid for 3 years of service, on multiple packages.

I've personally had a good experience with them. Good luck with your issue.

This is a standard notice when any Eleven2 servers are having issues. However you can continue to send a support ticket anyway regardless of this warning, but the very support issue you might be having may very well be the same issue they posted the notice about, or not! Just thought you'd like to know.

Yes, our Eleven2 server was having serious issues for over a days time about 3 days ago. We also noticed at that same time there were 3 other servers also having issue besides ours.

Posted by JixHost, 02-16-2014, 01:09 AM
I would be interested in knowing exactly what was the issue?

Posted by technut, 02-16-2014, 01:24 AM
For us the Eleven2 server error was: imap = down named [redhat]= down spamd [3.3.2]= down

Seems like that would've been an easy fix. Just in case though, @Roscolo have you tried connecting from an alternate IP.

Like the OP, I've also been with Eleven2 since Sharkspace. I've had frequent problems the last few weeks with timeouts, my sites loading very slowly, or sometimes not being able to connect to them at all. I especially notice with Wordpress sites, in admin--like writing/editing posts. I almost always contact support, and they are always quick to respond (but the issues aren't always fixable right away), but the issues are happening too frequently, and too many times. Just now I was having trouble again, so I went to the eleven2 site to submit a ticket, and this time I saw "server issues" alert, affecting server - Green. I found this thread after doing a search to see if it was just me. Eleven2 has been good, I'm not here to whine, but am looking into other hosts because this is getting very frustrating.

Me right now.

We are aware of the issues related to the server 'green'. We are doing everything we can to isolate the issue and eliminate, however, we realize that this poses issues for some of our customers. Anyone that is having ongoing issues with that server (or any server) is welcome to request a move to another server. We will also provide full credit per our SLA to everyone that had an issue. We apologize for all the problems that have been experienced.
