Posted by build-a-host, 04-11-2009, 09:35 PM | Hello all, I am in urgent need of some space to store CPanel backups for my clients. I don't need any control panel or databases or anything, none of the bells and whistles, I just need some space, some bandwidth, and an FTP account to transfer the backups automatically.
I need:
90-100GB Disc Space
50-100GB Bandwidth
1 FTP Account
Uptime is not a major issue, and neither is the server specs, I just need a place to store my backups for my clients. Please post your offers for requirements. I am going to setup the backups to automatically transfer them from my servers, to the backup server using FTP, so that shouldn't be a problem.
As for a budget, I am not sure what this type of thing usually goes for but so just post your suggestions for a cheap backup only package. I won't be hosting any websites on it, so the only bandwidth it will use is the transfers, and it will not require mch CPU at all!
Thanks in advance

There used to be a placed called BBQ something or other that did rsync backups but, I cannot remember the address.

Although not mandatory, backup solutions are far more efficient when close to or in your network.

1. They are slow
2. You might save more $$ by getting NAS or SAS backups at the DC where your server is. if you ask your host I am sure they offer something like this.
3. Get another drive, this will speedup backups when dealing with cpanel backups of that size.
