Are there any other hosts that offer everything host gator does?

Posted by Buffcity, 02-27-2014, 11:03 AM
I'm looking for what their reseller program offers, but with a different hosting company. From what I have read in the threads, their service is not so good lately.

What exactly they are offering that you want from others too? Any special requirements do you have? There are plenty of hosting companies on this forum that can offer much better services than Hostgator. So it is better to list your requirements.

You may need to look quite hard to find "4,500 Free Website Templates", There are some providers who offer some templates but if you do a search you can find tons on free templates so not really essential. Regarding all the other features, they normally come bog standards with most reseller providers.

Buffcity, what HostGator offers is by no means extraordinary, there are literally thousands of hosting providers offering nearly the same packages. Finding the good ones in a sea of bad ones is the hard part, but it sounds like you're doing your due diligence in that area. There are a lot of great hosts on WHT, with a little research I'm sure you'll find a host that fits your needs. One thing to keep in mind is that HostGator does not allow overselling, as a result it will be difficult for you to offer modern packages and use your space/transfer efficiently.

Off hand does anyone know which ones offer site building software to my clients?

Are you looking for specific site builder software or general site builders? The main ones are RVSiteBuilder, Breezi, and a few others.

I'm looking for pretty much everything I see that Hostdime offers but was not sure if they offer any kind of site builder software for my more independent clients would like to create their own sites.

Site builders look nice on the features list but in reality barely anybody touches them. I'll choose a CMS over site builders any day.

And once you offer them, if you have 1 customer out of 1,000 who uses them, you're stuck offering them forever.

After reading your message, I have been searching a reseller that might offer a CMS for my clients. I am having trouble finding them. Can you reccomend any?

Most providers include a script installer (Softaculous or Installatron), this allows your users to easily install a wide variety of scripts with just a few clicks.

All of the major autoinstallers include CMS systems (for example, Softaculous does). Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal, etc.

Ah, I see. Thank you very much for your feedback. It is most helpful.

Thanks for all your help fellow resellers. I decided to go with hostdime for my reseller plan. Now all that's left is to figure out this paperwork for licensing in my city.

I'd say just look for a hosting provider which sets you up as an affiliate, and use the auto-installers, or setup the accounts for people. Better to go with a provider that you can talk to, get in touch with, and assist you, with fast hardware and good uptime than one which has a few fancy install scripts that you pay money for, but oversells their hardware and has no customer service
