GVH hopefully this is not a bad sign

Posted by apartmentph, 12-11-2013, 06:55 AM
I just signed up yesterday but when I check my Site today, their name server ips aren't responding. Hopefully this is just an isolated case. Will update again.

What can cause name server ips to not respond? Loads are ok when I logged on to whm

Posted by ServerSub, 12-11-2013, 07:23 AM
is it about reseller plan?

Posted by Faris Aziz, 12-11-2013, 07:23 AM
Have you tried contacting their support? I supposed many in WHT mention that their support are very responsive.

Posted by apartmentph, 12-11-2013, 07:25 AM
I did. They are responsive. Responded after 15 minutes but they did not give any guarantee as to when they'll be able to fix the problem. It has been an hour already since I reported the problem and Site is still not responding due to name server ips.

Posted by apartmentph, 12-11-2013, 07:28 AM
Yes reseller plan. I'm just wondering if it would really take hours to fix a name server ips not responding problem?

do you checked that nameservers are set in correctly?for example domain is valid and A records added for nameservers on domain panel? nameserver change process may take along 1 minute but applying on internet may take a long from 1 to 24 hours.

Posted by apartmentph, 12-11-2013, 07:37 AM
It's not about that. I checked using intodns.com I did not use custom nameservers. I used their nameservers and it's giving errors by checking via intodns.com WARNING: One or more of your nameservers did not return any of your NS records

Oh,Ok! what is their link?i never heared about GVH

Posted by apartmentph, 12-11-2013, 07:57 AM
I'll try to make my own name servers and see if it will cause issues

If it's an internal issue with their Dns or network then it may be best to wait for their response or ask for a follow up.

It's too long to type out. GreenValueHost

Thanks Jon responded. He said that there was a conflict with their DDOS protection with the DNS but it should not have been. He has to investigate when he gets to the office because his support staff is not given access to the ddos protection (or whatever that is). Hopefully this will be resolved soon.

Run away while you can.. Search the forum for reviews.. Thank god i moved to hudson valley.. not a single second downtime since i moved.. compared to hours and hours when i was with gvh..

I've seen a lot of good feedback about gvh too that's why i decided to sign up with them. and Jon is pretty active here. Hmmm... Let's see. Honestly im quite nervous now but hopefully this is just an isolated event and not an indication of the level of support and quality of server.

Should I really be nervous now? It has been 4 hours now and it's still down

We're extremely, extremely backed up today with a very enormous amount of work. If you could please be patient with us today it would be much appreciated. WebHostingTalk is NOT our helpdesk and posting on this forum regarding your issues will only significantly delay resolution as it takes enormous amounts of time away from us to perform necessary tasks. Thank You. Last edited by GreenValueHostGM; 12-11-2013 at 10:21 AM.

The issue has been resolved. For some reason there was a mismatch with DNS records and such with our whitelabel nameservers for one of our Los Angeles servers and after resubmitting all the records via our registrar panel + control panel, I have confirmed that everything is fully functioning.

Jon while I appreciate that you're looking at this, it is still not resolved. Nameserver ips are still not responding. Same problem, nothings fixed. I hope you understand

Wow your reply to me Jon in this forum is somewhat out of the line. I was not going here for your support, I was asking if it is really normal for a host to take so much time fixing Nameserver problems. Additionally I think I have a right as wht member to post my experience with any host. In this regard, I'll open a ticket in your help desk and maybe I'll just ask for a refund since Firstly, I am a new client and I have been welcomed by this problem already, Secondly, I don't think I deserve to hear what you said. In fact instead of apologizing first for your server's problem, you sounded so defensive and I can sense a little aggression om your part

I will not further comment in this thread. Jon let's just discuss offline. If I offended you by opening a topic here, I apologize. How can I request mods to close this topic?

Although we have already discussed via ticket, for public reference: I did not mean any disrespect or any aggression towards you with my previous response here. The reason why I said what I did was because on average, these kinds of threads create massive amounts of unnecessary drama that leads to me spending hours upon hours trying to fight off accusations and such -- This takes time away from me helping our clients. I have double checked all of our configurations and confirmed that everything is set correctly. I have pointed my personal website to the LA server that you're hosted on and it's loading and the intoDNS result is different from yours. You seem to be using a rare domain extension that I've actually never heard of so there could be potentially something there. If you could respond to the ticket you opened with the login details to your registrar we'll be more than happy to look into it further as I've isolated this to be a registrar side issue. <- Really odd too, because I just looked up your domain name and it appears to be available for registration ? and WHOIS results can't be found for it .. If you wish to have this thread closed all you need to do is report your post and request the moderators to close it. Last edited by GreenValueHostGM; 12-11-2013 at 02:36 PM.

Alright. Just for the record, the problem was not about the registrar, as we discussed in the ticket, and as you have isolated the issue a few hours ago, it was about the ip conflicts (too technical for me to discuss here) and now I can say that issue is now 100% resolved. Will ask mods to close this topic.
