ALTINSOFT - better stay away!

Posted by MicroWorks, 08-26-2013, 09:17 PM
Yeah I know - it is stupid to buy the cheapest thing. And I was that stupid and bought a Turkish s-h-i-t. 10 GB of HDD space, unlimited traffic and a good-ping datacenter in France - just for $5 per month. And 7 days money-back guarantee (elsewhere on their web you can read even 30 days)! Big letters saying THE BEST DATACENTERS IN EUROPE !! Well, I paid, and the fun started. PLESK, and slow as hell - reaction time often > 30 seconds, but sometimes several minutes, some actions even end with errors. At 25/08/2013 15:04, I asked tech support for help. At 26/08/2013 02:30, I got a very short and "descriptive" answer: "Please try again." I tried. Errors again. At 26/08/2013 04:10, I asked tech support for help again. At 26/08/2013 08:53, I got another short and "descriptive" answer: "Problem solved. Please try again." Well, I uploaded some contents via FTP and tried to find a way how to open it in browser without having the domain name servers switched to Altinsoft yet. No luck - no temporary web address available for this purpose. Site Preview in PLESK resulted in an error. Techsupport first answered something I didnt ask, second answer was "I do not understand your request." and finally, the third attempt was "succesfull": the answer was "Sorry. This not possible. Domain required.". After some other issues with Joomla and continuing slow performance, I decided to request my money back. Voila! The answer from their sales department was "Sorry. The reseller services, there is no refund.". I sent them links to their own pages, where only VDS and dedicated servers are excluded from moneyback guarantee, but to no avail. The answer was: "We have labored. So it is impossible to refund. The decision is final, indisputable. We did not guarantee a refund for reseller services." And thats it. I am not yet done with them, but you take care not to lose your time and money the same way as me in this case.

Sorry to hear your bad experience with them. I realize they state refund policy for everything except reseller hosting. I am unsure if 'Reseller Hosting' is catagorize as 'hosting serivices'. What payment method did you utilize? If it's credit card, try to do a chargeback. http://altinsoft.net/refund.php

We have reseller hostings on an US based provider. Their reseller hostings start with $35/month. But your Hosting provider sell reseller hosting(with unlimited features) for $5/month. This is not realistic and shows their services unreliable alone. You must stay away from too cheap solutions to get reliable service.

Thanks for advice, Faris - I will try chargeback by my bank.

They have left no room for you to breathe. The only viable option is to seek a chargeback from the bank.

Chargeback application placed. In the meantime, I have registered by SkyNetHosting - since the beginning, the impression is much better - they react immediately, and they understand English ;-)

This customer account is closed. And no refund. Reason, known spammer.

Who are you talking about? The OP who opened this thread? The OP seems to have a legitimate complaint on his hands

Posted by net, 08-29-2013, 09:16 AM
He is from Altinsoft so he is talking about the OP being a spammer.

He said you have a money back guarantee and you didn't honor it?

Altinsoft, stop advertising your s-h-i-t-t-y servers, stop taking money for inadequate "services", and stop lying. BTW, my account is not closed - you wouldnt dare to close it as you know that YOU are the one who behaves illegally, not me.

Thanks for choosing SkyNetHosting as your hosting provider!

You are welcome . Up to now, I have nothing to complain about, which is a very pleasant relief.

That's great! Look forward for a mutually beneficial relationship for many years to come.

OP. It sounds like some of your problems may have been due to a language barrier. It may be that they legitimately tried to help you, but if they are using google translate, they might have had trouble understanding you. Did the company finally honour their refund policy or not? wait, was it a legit registered company in the first place?

They definitely have troubles understanding some basic English sentences. Anyway, they surely understood that their PLESK was painfully slow and buggy, and they were not able/willing to do anything about that. No, they did not refund, and the chargeback procedure was not finished yet. Currently, I am still with SkyNetHosting; however, there was an issue persisting for two weeks, which left me a bit uncertain... After those 2 weeks, they replaced a faulty HDD, and everything is OK since, but it took them too long to identify the cause. I am afraid of such situations when I will enter full reselling operation...

Heureka - today my bank informed me that my claim against ALTINSOFT was successful, and I got my money back. Sometimes justice is not completely blind ;-)
