Questions/concerns about 3 resellers

Posted by embsupafly, 11-29-2013, 01:16 AM
Hi All, I've been doing some research on different reseller packages over the last few days. Many of you have provided great help and I appreciate it. I've kind of narrowed down my search to three hosts that offer reseller packages, but have some concerns based on what I have read and heard about them here. I was hoping to get some input/feedback from anyone with experience with these hosts. I have them sort of listed in order of pre 1) EZPZ: I like that they can provide support to my clients of resold accounts. I also like that I will also be able to resell VPS and reseller accounts. Their features seems to fit my needs. I've heard that while their service is very good (from Dan), that they have a lot of performance and uptime issues. This has me concerned. Good service does go a long way, but can't fix bad uptime and poor performance. I've seen some of Dan's rebuttal responses to bad EZPZ reviews here and it seems that he has a good handle on things, but I am just not sure. They are the most expensive of the three listed here for reseller accounts and I will also be charged a foreign transaction fee each month by my credit card company for the pounds to dollars conversion. I am just wondering if this is all worth it. 2) CrocWeb: Looks great. I hear good things about their performance and their customer service. I have seen some concerns addressed with them being located in Canada and that this can affect SEO for some reason. Anyone know why this is? (BTW, I am based in the US). 3) Eleven2: I've heard mixed reviews, but they have some very good specials for Black Friday and their packages seem to fit my needs. They look OK, not as good to me as EZPZ or CrocWeb, but they are US based and they do have US servers (I know EZPZ does as well). The most appealing thing to me about them is price and the big discounts for black friday. Any thoughts on these three hosts? Last edited by embsupafly; 11-29-2013 at 01:19 AM. Your, IP location, The phone number and the address on your site contact us or about us page, and WHOIS contact details have an effect on your local search engine rankings. As an example say if you want to rank well in Wilmington/DE, if you host your sites on a server located in Wilmington/DE and have a Wilmington/DE adress in your contact page along with your phone number, and have Wilmington/DE WHOIS contact you can have improved rankings in this area.

You can add credit card to Paypal and pay with Paypal to avoid foreign transaction fee.

It sounds to me like your learning more towards Eleven2, so why not just try them and see how things work out? You could easily switch to one of the other providers (with help from CrocWeb or EZPZ) should things not work out. Really, the best way to know which providers are best for you is to test them for yourself. After all, you'll have different experiences to the members who reviewed the providers. For example, some of the negative reviews you read could've been due to x provider not setting up DNS properly. Now if you're more familiar with DNS it'd wouldn't be a problem for you as you could fix such issues yourself, though the members that left negative reviews may have thought x provider's support was very good but was put off by the issues with DNS. In short, your requirements will never match someone else's 100%. The more providers you test the better you'll be at comparing services and will start to know which providers are "best for you".

For Eleven2 they are over sold. The support is helpful and online most of the time just one issue with them is the fact they think a good load is "5-6." The R3NR server in Texas is currently Load: 5.38 Uptime: 64 Days 09:08:10 There are some issues with their lets say first ordered servers which you are automatically put on such as DDoS attacks on sites but they will normally move them sites to another account. They will allow you to change servers as often as you would like, I've been in the UK and the US with them and I have to say the US is far better. Oh and you get 30 days money back (It sometimes is first month only it's up to that support op)

We can bill you in USD so you wouldn't be hit with a conversion fee

I've just signed up with eleven2 and so far they seem good, have answered my support tickets quickly but I couldn't comment more than this. I have been with EZPZ before, absolutely brilliant customer support but had a lot of issues with DDoS attacks at the time so my up-time was a little sketchy, they are a little bit more expensive but i think they may be worth it if they have sorted the up-time. I can't really say much about crocweb as I haven't used them personally but I have heard really good things and would have given them a try if i didn't need a server in the UK, only bad thing I see with them is that their website is SOOOO blue it hurts my eyes One last point, as mentioned above, give them a go and see what you like. Your only moving your site around so no changing DNS for clients ect. I don't think it will be too much hassle if you pick a bad host and decide to relocate. Anyway, hope that helps.

I'm glad to hear your experience with us has been pleasant overall. R3NR is one of our older US servers that we plan to transition to our new hardware/network setup (no ETA as to when but all old servers are being rotated out). It is on a little bit older hardware but a load of 5-6 is still not something that it isn't capable of handling. If you'd like, we can always move you to another server with our new hardware/network setup, just let us know! In regards to DDoS attacks, we are in the final stages of implementing some very powerful (and very expensive!) DDoS mitigation equipment. Once this is implemented, DDoS attacks will become a much less problematic issue. 60 days, actually

Same thing at EZPZ

Same stuff for 60 days money back and I think its beginning my time to move on in web hosting as had a package with you nearly two years. I only really decided to because of the slowness of the server but yeah. Derek is and will always be the best live chat operator as he helps you instantly and goes out of his way to. But it was a fun ride with you guys.

I wouldn't be concerned about the SEO aspects of hosting with CrocWeb. Matt Cutts from Google says that there are over 200 factors that are taken into consideration when it comes to search engine rankings. I'm not sure that where you are hosted makes any difference. I do know that if you have a .CA domain extension that you rank better in Google.ca, Which also seems to support Christopher's comment when ranking in local search.

All three providers you've mentioned are reliable and have good services. You can't complain about costs the more you pay the more better the service will be. Be sure to check the host up on reviews before you sign up with them you don't want to run into service problems at all. P.s best of luck hope you choose the right provider and hope all goes well Do keep us informed with who you go with and how their services are.

The "SEO" concern was BS. Whoever wrote/said that doesn't understand SEO at all. There's multiple aspects to consider. (Hint: Google Webmaster Toosl + server location + domain TLD, and some override things; i.e GWM vs. server location) For reseller, I choose other options. For example, Site5 and Veerotech. There's quite a few good reseller hosts out there. If you're unsure about one, there's are more to look at.

I used CrocWeb 1 year ago . Their service and support were amazing and their costs are affordable .

Care to share what domain do you host with them?
