Posted by skizo, 05-09-2013, 05:45 PM
Hello, I have a hostgator reseller plan, an i have a dude. When i manually create a new user account in WHM, i receive an email with the account details, but the user does not receive any email, even if I put your email address when creating the account. Why?? Thanks!

You won't get much support here at WHT. It's better to directly ask HostGator for the support through live chat or phone call as they'll resolve the problem better and quicker

you need whmcs or box-billing to send the customer his credentials

WHM does not send email to user. WHM send email to reseller's email only. You will need to compose email with account info and send to your customer.

even if whm did send user email info it would go to his account which he doesn't have access to until you give him the information anyway. Like that joke commerical IBM had - did you get the email telling everybody the email server is down for an hour?

Hostgator provides WHMcs or WHMAutoPilot at no additional cost. Using one of these tools will automate the setup process for you.

Ok, I understand. Thanks for yours answers, i am a newbie. Another dudes: 1 - When i sign up my reseller plan i picked a ugly username. Now, this username always appears to create a package: uglyusername_mypackage. I can not change this now, it is not possible. If I install WHMCS, I can keep that ugly word out in the plans I provide the users? 2 - To create names of plans, I will have problems if I use spaces or capital letters, to make it beautiful?: username_mysmallplan /or/ username_My Small Plan 3 - In my domain for hosting purposes (main domain), i have a simple html with a button that redirects the user to the panel with this address: https://domain.com:2083/ I do well? Thank you, and best regards

1- Yes, in WHMCS you can set up a few settings to use the first 8 letters of the domain name as the cPanel/WHM username. 2- You can assign each plan a definite name in both WHMCS as well as WHM. If you have root access to WHM you can set it up to give the packages under a reseller the following patter- resellerusername_packagename 3- You can pass the username and password for cPanel via the URL as all. Setup a form to collect the user's domain name, username and password and pass it along with the URL.

Hello, sorry my poor english (i use a google translate). 1. I dont want that my username (ugly word) appears as a suffix in a name of user package. it is possible, is that correct? 2. I dont root access in my reseller plan. I just wondered if it was okay to put names with spaces and capital letters (for example): username_My Small Plan. 3. Ok. i understand. Thank you!!

cPanel will take care of this for you. If your package name is dkfjdjf_My-Plan, the client will see only My-Plan listed as the package name. Capital letters are fine but not spaces, hyphens are acceptable as well.

That's OK Then I'll have to make new plans and eliminate old. I used spaces. Thank you very much

I'm not finding that to be the case at all john. I'm new here too and people have already helped me a lot. And I help people too. That is one of the things what this place is for too. I think you are quite wrong. Maybe best just to not post if you are negative. Others are helping and OP was helped a lot - opposite of what you say.

You should realize that not everyone here hangs around to flash off their "Sig"
