Managed Dedicated Server ( Low-budget )

Posted by Masud, 10-09-2006, 11:09 AM
Hello friends, Currently we have 1 VPS server for my clients but unfortunately the network is damn slow and clients are facing issues due to the connectivity and very slow speed of the VPS. We are looking for a fully managed Dedicated server with atleast 99% uptime guarantee and decent network speed. Current HDD usage : 12GB Bandwidth usage : Approx. 60GB ( Coinarcade.net - a massive game portal is with us but we are facing downtime due to the VPS account ) Accounts : 70 domains ( 18 resellers ) Budget : $120 / $180 I've few managed service providers in my mind : LiquidWeb / Atjeu / AllManaged Do you have any other hosts in mind? Kindly let us know. Our current contracts ends next month and most likely we wont renew with the current providers. Regards, Masud

Also... Getting a server below $100 with LT and hiring a good technical staff sounds like a good option. What do you guys think?

Try a VPS from a company that delivers a high performance standard. Many VPS companies out there are just quite frankly in experienced and just jumping into the market to make more money. www.knownhost.com

I agree that most companies don't have the experience to offer vps's. I doubt you'll get a quality managed server for your budget and may be better off getting a high-end vps.

Howdy CSDesk, I just got done searching all over the place for managed Web hosting. Most don't offer it -- usually just dedicated hosting with no help. Most of the rest do offer it, but they require payment in the form of limbs (and arm and a leg!). I checked into RackSpace and the like, and just today (in fact about 20 minutes ago) found a place that offers ONLY managed dedicated hosting at awesome costs (Starts at $149 for fully dedicated, and $54 for semi-dedicated, fully managed). Check out: westhost.com (I'd give you a full link but I'm new to this forum and it won't let me) By the way -- you have my word I'm not affiliated with them in any way. I've been pulling my hair out looking for a managed service to run an email list-hosting package for me and finally found one at a decent price. Good luck, Tim

Thanks for your suggestions guys! Layer0 - that VPS deal sounds good but I dont have good experience with VPS in recent past so I am not sure! But yeah if their support and uptime is fine then I'll try 1 with them.

Managed is difficult to find for that price I found from my browsing, but just in your price range is ntouch.ca which is managed. That is where I have mine.
