Just be honest with them and explain the benefits to them.

Generally people who run their hosting company from a reseller account prefer not to let their clients know about them being a reseller simply because they don't want to lose their business, or potential business. (Many people wouldn't want to host with a reseller) You can choose to tell your potential clients/clients whatever you want to, but being honest really is the right thing to do. To be honest, anyone who really wants to know if you're a reseller can trace you down to the original host, even if they claim it's "100% white label"

As long you don't have SWIPed IP's to your name on the servers then no one will ever find out if you use whitelabel name servers, hostnames, etc

If you say or no, clients can know abt your reseller provider

I say no because then the client can see what you are paying for your service, and then state you are over charging.

Just say no or you going to start selling reseller hosting

avin7000 Your answer will depend on the specific details of the question. If someone asks are you reselling another companies hosting services and you say "No" but you are, you are being deceptive and perhaps making misleading or fraudulent statements about your services. Rather than worrying about this, you may want to focus on why that is being asked to begin with. Instead of being deceptive or opaque about your services, you could say. We resell services from a number of hosting providers. We even tell prospect to go get a quote directly if they want --- sometimes we are more expensive but they still come back and buy from us. People will pay more if they think you are adding value to what is largely a commodity.

Most hosts that start up will probably use a reseller account due to the relatively low startup prices. The main factor is that the startup host selects the best reseller provider so the packages that are sold are of good quality and ultimately are the type of packages that they would provide if they had their own equipment. All hosts that last longer than 12-18 months would i assume be serious about being a hosting provider and would aspire to own their own equipment. So i completely agree with huck above you could use a similar quote :

Yes, but what if they're using a well known host? For example, Eleven2's white label domain is unisonplatform.com You'd easily be able to find out.

There is nothing wrong about being a reseller if you are providing good service to your clients.

I honestly don't think it is a bad thing to be a reseller but it's your decision whether to tell your clients or not.

I don't believe in hiding such information but yes there have been times when a client directly contacted the hosting provider and created a lot of confusion. Until and unless you are asked there is no need to disclose the name of hosting provider.

I don't want to lie guys. But what about when client asks about pricing ? If my reseller hosting provider is offering at very good costs & client can easily figure out about pricing right ?

Its your company and your business plan the price that you buy services in at is irrelevant to your customers. If they like your services they will be happy to pay the cost. Running a hosting business is not just about servers or reseller accounts you have lots of other overheads to think about like support, server monitoring, backup solutions and your own profit to include. At the end of the day you run a business to make profit unless you are a multi millionaire and you do it for fun.
