Reseller Hosting Question

Posted by KYLHost, 01-18-2013, 05:20 PM
Hello, First of all please do not blame on me if this is posted on the wrong section. I have a few questions to ask. So recently i am planning to start a small business. I am planning to buy a Reseller host package so i can create my own packages to sell it. But the problem now is, is it difficult to set-up packages or set-up the servers. I read a lot of topics already but i would like to have some more informations. Like how to setup the servers, how to connect it with WHM. Also another question I would ask for a long time is. Could i connect the server with different IP if i purchased that server from another host. Like: first xXxHost IP:ns1.myhostdomain.com & IP:ns2.myhostdomain.com purchased new host XxXHost could i still change the ip to IP:ns1.myhostdomain.com & IP:ns2.myhostdomain.com or do i need to change it to IP:ns3.myhostdomain.com & IP:ns4.myhostdomain.com Also my last last question is, could you guys give me some suggestions for becoming a small business? I believe that they are Stupid questions. But I also believe that from learning about Stupid questions will help me out in future. Friendly Regards, Paco (KYLHost)

As long as you have the nameservers / Ips and the Hash key from WHM, you can connect it with as many servers as you want. The WHMCS Documentation is really helpful and easy to understand.

Hi weather you posted it in the wrong place is irelavent to me, i will answer your question as clear as i can. I'm new here also, but im a web host running multiple franchises. Webhosting allowed me to do what im doing right now.. That aside it's very easy using WHM and Cpanel. Depending on your hosting package you should receive your whm and cpanel connected from creation. 2ndly your referring to nameservers. Yes you can aquire your own private name servers that you can apply to your whm and cpanel. These nameservers will have to be set when creating a domain name. And 3rdly, create a service thats easy to use, understand, is pleasing to the eye and has valuble keyword rich content within your pages! You'll need to drive as much traffic to your site as possible however it must be relevant! A good way to do this is to take part in discussion boards such as this, the warrior forum, digital point.. create social networking pages on twitter and facebook and various other social sites. Use craigs list and other marketplaces such as ebay! Try and create as many opportunitys for customers to come by your website. I have many options you maybe interested in. If you just want advice, then by all means ask away. I hope this helped!

If you are just starting out and dont have all the answers you need to ensure you sign up with a host that offers good quick support. I would recommend going with a small to medium size company as they will be able to offer you more help and support in getting things setup. Some companies will also setup WHMCS for you for a small fee.

Do you have any suggested hosting company?

I think the best way would be to look through the advertising forums here on wht. Read some past reviews and contact the company you like the look of and ask what level of support they are willing to provide. Like I said some will have a paid service for setting up WHMCS so you would have to take this into account.

Than how many money should i spend for a small business. Should i hire someone or not?

I always find its better to setup myself and as for the money it really depends on your budget but I would start with something small if you have no clients and go for a money back package so if things dont work out you can always get your money back.

Choosing a company would begin with defining your resource requirements. You need to tell us how much space and bandwidth you would need depending on that we could suggest what what be good and who would best offer it.
