Are you talking about cPanel/WHM resellers or VPS resellers?

Assign more resources to your own VPS Account (Since you own the dedicated Hardware) and start creating the reseller inside your cPanel/WHM. You can create packages in WHMCS and create resellers.

the reseller which is actually a shared acc but they can resell webspace also

and if it's possible doing it thru whmcs any idea's on the settings pls

Yes You can do the settings. Follow the link and you are up http://docs.whmcs.com/CPanel/WHM

I believe I misunderstood you here. You can only create reseller if this is your own VPS and you have the root access to your cPanel. A only shared Hosting account can not create reseller in their account. So if you have root access you can create cPanel reseller on your VPS.

sorry not quite sure what u mean. i have asked my server supplier to create another partition for resellers so it will be seperate to the shared part. is this right? so there will be a big chunk of my dedicated available to lost of individual resellers

christianstogether - Do you have cPanel root details to login

Posted by christianstogether, 01-16-2013, 06:56 AM
yes i have full root access

So now the question is, do you want to keep the shared and reseller customers on same VPS or you want 1 vps or your shared customer and another VPS (You will need additional cPanel license for the same.)for your reseller customer.

Posted by christianstogether, 01-16-2013, 07:29 AM
i will have a seperate VPS for the reseller acc's i think that would be easier didn't realsie i'd need another cpanel licence tho so will have to get 1 of them. I have plenty of free IP's and space so may as well use them

Posted by timeshost, 01-16-2013, 07:55 AM
You can get this on same VPS as well with the same cPanel License. Just allocate more resources to your current VPS and setup your WHMCS as specified in above URL and you are all set.

will my cpanel licence cover this? or will i need to upgrade it

Posted by christianstogether, 01-16-2013, 08:04 AM
actually my cpanel licence comes with the server from them direct so it would prob be ok not sure i'd have to speak to them to see what version they have

Wrong. Have you heard of something called Master Reseller? Alpha Resellers?

Posted by christianstogether, 01-16-2013, 02:49 PM
i have a dedicated anyway

With a dedicated server and cPanel/whm you can easily setup shared and reseller customers. I would not split up shared and reseller accounts because then you can use just 1 cpanel license and you would have all the resources at your disposal for times of high demand. You can also configure WHMCS to create shared and reseller accounts automatically.

yes good thinking is there a limit to the amount of sites you have on 1 set of nameservers/IP's

You should be fine but if you want extra redundancy why not setup a cPanel DNS only cluster?

Posted by christianstogether, 01-16-2013, 03:28 PM
ok lost me now lol

Posted by StarWebHosting, 01-16-2013, 03:37 PM
Ok so you can setup say 4 VPS servers, each in different locations with cPanel DNS only. These can then cluster or connect to your main server. You can then use one IP from each VPS for your nameservers. Any DNS changes made on your server are then synchronised with each VPS. If say two of the VPS servers go down people should still be able to access websites on your server. Not the best explanation I know but you should be able to find more information on the cPanel website.

All cPanel licenses support full WHM access, including the ability to create reseller packages. You'll only need an additional license if you choose to run a separate vps on a unique IP.

brill thanks i have decided to increase the size of my additional vps thanks for all the help

well setting up whm/cpanel and whmcs isn't easy is it????? can anyone walk me thru it step by step pls? i already have everything set-up for shared hosting that was easy but how do i change or add settings for resellers pls

Posted by timeshost, 01-18-2013, 12:19 PM
Kushal, I know the Alpha and Master reseller very well. Here the OP has his own dedicated server with several VPS on that and already have a cPanel license with him. Till now he seems to selling shared accounts so to make reseller he doesn't need a Alpha or Master reseller access.

There is not any restriction on number of accounts on one IP, however if you have multiple IPs you can set resellers on a different IP and your shared accounts on different shared IP. Its completely your choice how you are managing.

Just follow the link step by step and you are done. http://docs.whmcs.com/CPanel/WHM#For_a_reseller_package
