Which Reseller Hosting Provider?

Posted by and5rey, 08-31-2012, 07:02 AM
Which reseller hosting provider would you recommend for a new web hosting company? I'm deciding between BlueHost and HostGator, but I think I will go with BlueHost as I already have a shared hosting account with them 4 years without any problems.

What are you requirements? Budget? What do you require the reseller account for (reselling or for personal sites)?

InnoHosting rocks it. You can't go wrong with them. I'd also take a look at ThePrimeHost. One of the problem with using a mega and/or "discount" reseller is the crowd they attract. When you go with a cheap reseller, you may to wind up with a lot of "$1 / year / unlimited everything" type hosts on your node. These in turn will draw out abusive customers, who will drag you down with them. I'm not saying every cheap host has these problems, but they're cheap for a reason. How will you be providing support? Will you be handling it yourself or outsourcing? Will you provide 24-hour support? What happens when you're sleeping or otherwise unavailable? What geographic considerations do you have in mind? Do you have any special needs like high-availability or the ability to resell VPSes / dedicated servers? Have you checked the offers forum? Any hosts there catch your eye?

I am agree with floor9. If you find Bluehost good in terms of customer service, uptime then you can stick with them otherwise many hosts out there do offer reseller hosting. Choose one.

It is non-sense to buy Reseller Hosting Account from overselling Shared Hosting providers! They sell unlimited on Shared Hosting, but when it comes to Reseller Account, you get a particular amount of resources. How do you "compete" their own Shared Hosting offers?

When you are starting out I would go with a hosting provider that offers very good support that is available 24/7. There are many good hosting providers that fit the bill on WHT but the few that spring to mind are hawkhost.com, speedysparrow.com, ezpzhosting.co.UK.

In your signature it appears you have a site advertising the "top 10 web hosts". If you already know who the top 10 are then why do you require advice on who is good and who isn't? Or is that top 10 based on affiliate payouts?

hawkhost.com are good. Used them myself.

Turnkey internet, fast and professional support. Decent uptime, not very good thought.

Pretty much every top site list is an affiliate payout.

EZPZHosting.com have GREAT support and many addons! They're also running a promotion now, 50% off resellers with free upgrade I would have chosen them

I also agree. If he has a good ongoing relationship with Bluehost, no reason to change Same way you would if you got the account somewhere else.

Wow. Just wow. Exactly what I was thinking. Here you are asking the WHT community about who you should choose for a resellers plan when you have a signature advertising hosts bases on affiliate payout. I'm starting to think THIS POST is just another way for you to gain affiliate credit for bluehost. Nice try.

If you have already have an account with BlueHost since 4 hours without any problems then stay with them. If you do not have any problems then why do you wish to change your host?

I do not prefer hostgator because it's not allowing overselling and you are a web host you will need this feature .. I host with hawkhost.com <<< very good service

Why do people judge? Perhaps OP has got a decent pocket money from affiliates now to start up as reseller. I suggest you to go with the majority. Choose ezpz, innohosting, crocweb or turnkey. Last edited by hasel; 01-18-2013 at 10:26 AM.
