Hi Currently we use vzdump which suspends and then backups up VPS servers. Is there a better way or script to do so online without suspending?

Hi, You can also take an online backup. What exact command you are using to dump the container?

I would recommend using a software such as Idera/R1Soft. You can take live backups of the containers then, while the VPS operates normally. No suspension is required. Do you have any other questions I can help with?

We using vzdump --compress --dumpdir $backup_parent_dir --suspend $CTID --tmpdir $tempdir

Hi, If you are going to option "--suspend" then obviously containers will be suspended. Remove this option. vzdump --compress --dumpdir $backup_parent_dir $CTID --tmpdir $tempdir
