Checking my client activity

Posted by HostingWays, 01-01-2012, 06:42 AM
Hello I am noob in this field. My question is: Before my client register his nameservers with me some of them use the temporarily URL (http:ip/username) to install some scripts which can be harmfull. Once of them changed the default cpanel password so I cannot login in his cpanel to check the files installed. Of course I can change his cpanel password, login and check but he will be in the impossibility to login at his turn. Is there any way to check my client activity beside what I described already? Thank you and appreciate your help.

As a reseller you should be able to login to any of your customer accounts through WHM If not, submit a support ticket to your provider Once logged in to their cPanel interface, you will see a warning that you are logged in as Reseller (or whatever word that has been set) The only item thereafter that you will not be able to login / view is MySQL, you need to complete this via their cPanel It is recommended that the customer change their password from that issued in the initial / welcome email If you need this password then advise the client it has been reset, again you can perform this from WHM A customer should also be able to reset their cPanel password Finally, what do you deem to be a script which can be harmful? If it is likely to damage your services, then disable the account If it is likely to damage visitor services, then disable the account Advise the customer of the suspension and to remove the offending scripts after agreeing access will be enabled solely for this purpose and confirmation of completion within 1 hour of doing so, failure to do so will result in termination (as per your TOS) If the scripts are still present after reactivation, suspend again and prepare to terminate after 7 days (as some customers may not fully understand the action required) Last edited by m8internet; 01-01-2012 at 07:27 AM.
