I have a dedicated server with cloudlinux as os on it and cpanel Few days ago i noticed a strange error happening , Any files i try to import via phpmyadmin gives timeout error The size of the file i try to import is 3.8 mb , So i splitted it to 8 files each is 512kb only and still gave the time out error I increased max post size and max upload file size values to 20 , 50 and even 150 mb also set max execution time for phpmyadmin to unlimited and it kept running for over 40 minutes without any results Are there any other options i should try ? I have CLOUDLINUX 6.6 + php 5.4 + apache 2.4

Usually for an import like that I would use something like Navicat or sqlyog. Either that or upload to my user account and import using mysql cli.

Love Navicat! Second that recommendation.

For me as root it's not issue , But i have clients on server who needs phpmyadmin import function as they don't want to contact me each time they want to import files like this Issue is the file is too small if it's 50 or 100 mb file i'd understand but a 3 mb file doesn't make any sense

If you have support for your hosting, you can always contact them to restore the database for you if you can upload a sql backup over to the server. But then, 512kb files are much less in size than to give a time out error.

This can be for several reasons. Please try to increase max_input_time and also check the phpmyadmin config file for any related limitation.

Hosting can't figure it out too, The thing i noticed is it's related to number of queries imported , The file i'm trying to import is 292 kb compressed or 3.80 mb as sql but it has over 63k query as it's list of countries ( ip2nation database ) But in same time i'm able to import a database backup with size 9 mb without problems , So is there some sort of limit phpmyadmin ads on such imports because i can import the file on other servers without problem but not on my current server

You can upload .sql file to your home folder and ask hosting to dump it on required database That should be easier and should not time out unless the hosting provider has very low bandwidth or high load on server
