Memcached can speed up mysql ?

Posted by feedstrike, 03-24-2015, 04:38 PM
Hello. I hope this is a correct sub forum to ask about memcached. I read that installing memcached (from http://memcached.org) + php pecl memcache can speedup mysql / mysqli process. If i installed them, do they somehow automatically speed up mysql / mysqli process? Thank you.

It is not automatic but it can be integrated. Take a look at the mysql docs: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.6/...memcached.html Some web apps also support using memcache for parts of the data storage which can also help speed things up.
