Make smtproutes alive in qmail

Hi I installed qmail and its up and running fine. Now I need to rely email coming from domain.com to another mail exchange I came to know that I need to have smtproutes in /var/qmail/control/ and add Is that it ? Should I do anything else ? How qmail will know that there is smtproutes file available ? Do I need to define something related to smtproutes in qmail run file ? Regards Cannibal
