Unlimited Space or Accounts?

Posted by kshazad86, 05-20-2011, 05:55 PM
Just wanted to know whether people looking for a reseller hosting plan prefer the first option or second? 1.) Unlimited Space and Traffic, but limit on the no.of accounts 2.) Unlimited Websites, but limits on the bandwidth and traffic Which option would you prefer? Last edited by kshazad86; 05-20-2011 at 06:02 PM.

I'm not looking for hosting however my personal opinion would be the 2nd option...I'd rather be able to host as many sites as possible, because if you're limited on the number of accounts/sites, the chances are likely that you won't be able to make use of that "unlimited" space/traffic unless you really have a popular site (then you have other things to worry about)

If you're going for option one you'll have trouble guaranteed. The unlimited gimmick is tricky already in shared hosting, with a reseller account the issues just multiply.

If my advice is worth anything I personally would stay away from both lets face it... Unlimited Space Unlimited Accounts either way you look at that or word it theres no such thing as unlimited and eventually always with hosts like these your going to come across issues. in short: Stay Away. out.

I would definitely stay away from the first option as that is generally a sign that my website might end up on a server that is being abused, overloaded or both.

It really depends on your target audience. More experienced resellers will appreciate the limits on disk space and bandwidth, while newer resellers will see "unlimited" and assume it is the best.

unlimited is just a gimmick to fool people

I'd go with the option 2. There's nothing like unlimited space. What are they gonna do if I decide to upload some 100000 TB of data? Its very unrealistic.

Read the ToS and AUPs before going for unlimited hosting packages.

You would need unlimited diskspace and bandwidth to have unlimited websites.

2nd option will be more better than 1st one because you can handle unlimited accounts in a limited space. This can easily done because most of the users uses less then a GB space and a reseller with a good space can handle for you.

100 % behind option 2, most people think unlimited everything is very good until they breach some limit like inodes or CPU usage, which are very well hidden in the small print of said providers... Good luck

Is unlimited bandwidth hosting as good as it sounds? Typically, whenever you decide to buy hosting space, you look for two things – bandwidth and hosting space. Hosting space is the size of space you get, in GB (gigabytes) to host your website, while bandwidth is number of bytes you get to transfer your site’s web pages to your visitors when they browse your site. Bandwidth is calculated on a monthly basis. Things like images, texts, flash etc consume bandwidth and that’s why hosting space as well as bandwidth is chargeable. Unlimited bandwidth web hosting allows you have more visitors on your website without the scare of excess traffic crashing your site.

Exactly the opposite is true.

I go with the option 2 because its realistic than that "unlimited" thing. As some earlier poster said. Unlimited is just a "gimmick"
