Protection of a streaming server
Posted by RoadBlock, 04-07-2014, 08:13 AM | Hey guys,
i have the following setup:
Media/streaming server ------> VPS where my page + player is
so the media server is streaming the content right to the VPS where my clients can watch the stream with jwplayer.
my question is now can i protect the media server backend IP somehow?
because it's really easy to sniff the IP from my media server with wireshark.
my first idea was to setup a proxy between the media server and my page but i am afraid that this will influence the streaming quality! oh by the way i am streaming live content/videos.
my second idea was to use cloudflare! because at the moment my streaming link is like that: 192.168.123.123/mpegts1 but when i use an extra domain + cloudflare it would be streamingcontent.com/mpegts1 and wireshark should only show the cloudflare ip i guess.
are both ideas totally wrong?^^
or is there any better option?
kind regards
