Issues with OpenVZ and New Ubuntu/Debian

Posted by ZonedHost, 09-06-2013, 03:43 PM
Hey guys, I have a CentOS 5.9 server running OpenVZ Latest Kernel 2.6.32-348.16.1.el5.028stab108.1PAE. I have tried to install the new Ubuntu 12.04/12.10/13.04 and Debian 7.0 templates straight from the OpenVZ OS Templates depository. For some odd reason, once these templates are installed I have no network connections on any of these OS's. ifconfig route -n resolv.conf I am unable to ping inbound/outbound aka ping google doesn't work and I can't SSH in. Thanks

Further update. I have managed to get the server to work. For some reason I need to re-asign the IP again and also restart SSH to get an external connection underway. The problem I have now is when I reboot the Container I have to repeat these steps once again? Anyone any idea? Thanks

What are you using to deploy your containers?

Deploying them with HyperVM. But the same issues exist even with manaul install via the console. For some reason, as I say when I reboot the VPS it removes the Vent0 from the network connection and also for some reason needs SSH to be restarted for :22 SSH outbound connections to work (Otherwise its refused on port:22)

More updates. I can get the network to work etc and all is fine until I reboot. Then it seems /etc/init.d/network is deleted/unreadable indicated by ifconfig having no output. Is this something anyone has come across?? Thanks
