Posted by Jcink, 09-11-2013, 10:30 AM | mod_evasive is pretty much useless. It never worked well any time I ever tried to use it and it would block legitimate requests all the time.
There are far better ways to reign in HTTP based attacks. Look at throwing nginx in front of apache just for better performance and using deflate + iptables.
