Also it should have some control panel: cpanel, directadmin, plesk... that doesn't matter.
Maybe possibility of future upgrade to better plan or vps if the site grows.

The trouble is most web hosting companies don't tell on their websites which PHP extensions they have enabled on their servers and I don't want to buy and then find out they don't have what I need.

It's also in French which begs a question if their support speaks English properly to resolve issues without a problem.
