Gmail SPAM Folder

Posted by Zimple, 05-29-2013, 01:50 PM
All the emails sent to gmail via any hosted account on this server goes to gmail spam folder. This server has not sent any bulk emails before. I tried changing hostname/rDNS but nothing works. Is there way to prevent it ?

You may want to check the server's primary IP against common blacklists with either one of these sites: http://mxtoolbox.com/blacklists.aspx http://multirbl.valli.org/ Also, check the headers in the message to see if it was tagged as spam somehow (X-Spam-* headers), see if it passes SPF validation, DKIM (if you use it), and make sure it comes from an existing source address.

You probably haven't enabled DKIM signing

DKIM & SPF authentication are big ones. Have you inspected the full email headers of one of the false junk mails? There may be some indication in this area as to why messages aren't being handled correctly. It would be the "Show Original" option in the drop-down to the right of the email time stamp. Best of luck.

1 . Check ip blacklist and request the removal .Is this your new server ?

It was never blacklisted. It does not make any difference even I have SPF/DKIM enabled. ----------------------------------- Received: by 10.68.153.69 with SMTP id ve5csp32833pbb; Wed, 29 May 2013 09:43:30 -0700 (PDT) X-Received: by 10.236.26.68 with SMTP id b44mr1417644yha.198.1369845809694; Wed, 29 May 2013 09:43:29 -0700 (PDT) Return-Path: Received: from YY (YY. all replies are valid however some email servers needs to see many emails and resolve this once server builds reputation. EX hotmail.

You may also need to check for rDNS record. Please make sure that you have set up proper rDNS record for your mail server IP address. It may also happen if it is not properly set up. You need to contact your server provider to set rDNS for you.
