The Smtp is an issue on VPS on mutiple domain

Hi I have the same problem. I have two domains and the first domain is abcgroup.com and other domain is abc.com which is the company domain on which all e-mail accounts are created. When the server is sending mail is making an smtp on host.abcgroup.com most of the time the mail goes and received but for some domain where the security is high refuses to accept the connection from host.abcgroup.com when a mail is gone as user@abc.com How do we overcome this issue ? , The Smtp server keeps the message on hold and keep trying as the remote server is not accepting and finally the message bounce back saying could be delivered after many tries. What is the solution for this, I would appreciate some hints to get this resolved. Thank you

create a new TXT record for abc.com containing the following: What this will do is create a so called Sender Policy Framework record for abc.com telling the recieving server, if it checks, that any emails coming from the a record(your web server) or any of the MX servers, it should allow it, if it comes from anything else, warn. if host.abcgroup.com is not in the MX list (eg. if you use an anti spam solution): if it got IPv6: When you know this works, you can change ~all to -all to make the receiving server treat anything else as spam. It shouldn't matter which domain is used in the return address, just as long as the reverse DNS (rDNS) has been set to match the sending email server name. So if your sending server is mail.abcgroup.com you should ask your data center (whoever your lease your IP address from) to associate your IP address with mail.abcgroup.com. IP Address <-----> mail.abcgroup.com You can check to see if your rDNS has been setup by doing a lookup at this link. http://remote.12dt.com/ When rDNS is setup properly your email shouldn't be returned because of server name, regardless of return address. There could be other issues, such as blacklisted IP address, but your email won't be returned because of host name. Last edited by ajonate; 01-02-2013 at 02:24 AM.

1. Set up proper rDNS record for your mail server. 2. Tell senders to add your domain name in allowed senders list where there is a high security settings and do not allow the connection.

Reply to Thor Erik: Thank you after adding the server Spf text record the server oranje.jo has accepted my e-mail which it was refusing the connection earlier. But still I have a problem for another server which says the Fix the forward DNS. abc.com is user e-mail domain DNS and mail server is hosted on the VPS for abc.com for which host name is host.abcgroup.com. when a rdns is made for server IP e.g 92.125.2.45 then it returns host.abcgroup.com, which most server e-mail server accepts now one server prodigy.net has security which does a forward lookup and says this message "host ff-mx-vip1.prodigy.net [207.115.20.20]: 451 4.1.8 Possibly forged hostname for 92.125.2.45.flpd245.Fix forward DNS.For more information email postmaster@prodigy.net SMTP>> QUIT
