Posted by onesimpleman, 01-10-2013, 10:03 AM
I have a dedicated server running on Plesk. On one of the websites Someone else is redirecting unwanted traffic through cname redirect. How can I stop this ? For example my domain is xyz.com Another guy who owns say imposter.com is redirecting his traffic to my website. I do not want this traffic.

Block that certain domain name IP address in your server firewall.

Look into htaccess blocking based off of the referral or maybe the cname, one should work. Blocking in the FW won't do anything because they are just redirecting clients

Create a virtual host for the CNAME and display whatever you want or send a 403

Last advice is probably the best, you can also look up any 'default' pages so it will redirect there for all domains not added in your setup
