how long does it take to get off Spamhaus?
| Posted by aww, 10-15-2012, 07:15 PM | | Spamhaus blacklisted an entire C block on the network that included a client today because apparently someone a few dozen ip addresses above them was doing something evil.
Very frustrating in that we cannot do anything to solve the problem and we didn't cause it in the first place.
So if the host and their network provider does everything "right" to fix this, how long are we looking at? Of course that would be best-case, I fear the worst-case in having to move.
This is the first time I've had to deal with a blacklist in a decade so not sure what to expect but I do not like what I am seeing about spamhaus and their overly-aggressive C-block blocking.
Would love to hear any similar experience.

Wish they would have done a /32 until proven otherwise.
/24 is far too broad with today's limited ip4 allocations.

I'd investigate into who caused this to happen on your network as well to make sure it's taken care of and doesn't happen again.
