Dathorn or InnoHosting?

Posted by Doktor Jones, 04-25-2007, 08:24 PM
I'm looking at getting a small reseller account with either Dathorn or InnoHosting, but am not sure who to go with. Right now I'm considering the following packages: InnoHosting $21.99/month 13GB disk space* 100GB/mo bandwidth cPanel, WHM, and ClientExec * package comes with 3GB, but I want more than that so $6/month (included in the above price) gives me 10GB extra Dathorn $20.25/month 6GB disk space 90GB/mo bandwidth cPanel, WHM no ClientExec ($4/mo extra) I'm leaning toward InnoHosting at the moment because $1.74/month more gives me 7GB more of disk space and 10GB/month more bandwidth, as well as ClientExec. Both IH and DT seem to have good customer service and have gotten good reviews around here thus far, and I was wondering if anyone might be able to tell me more details about their experience with either host?

Dathorn was my second reseller account before I moved to another host but I must say Andrew runs a tight ship. Customer service was always there for me and while they don't hold your hands sugar coat their responses, they get things done the right way. I left only because I want directadmin. I'm not a huge fan of cpanel.

Since when is 6GB/90GB considered small? I only have experience with dathorn which was years ago. If you know what you're doing, dathorn is a good choice. Regardless of which reseller you ultimately go with, please write a review after a few months

Well in the world of reselling, I'd imagine 6GB is relatively small... without overselling, you'd only be able to sell 12 500MB/7GB accounts. Of course, I use about 1GB myself, and only plan to host two or three 1GB/20GB accounts so this level is really about all I need Andrew contacted me via e-mail a little while ago and allayed some concerns I have... that's what I call proactive service! That, combined with the feedback from you guys, has prompted me to sign up with Dathorn's "Business" reseller package. I'll be sure to leave a sort of journal of my experience with them - something detailing the setup process, then maybe a week review, then monthly reviews for the first three months or so, then maybe (hopefully!) bi-annual input after that.

I've only been with InnoHosting about 3 days. Inital experience was great and faultless and my site(s) flow like a dream with no extra work from me required. I've checked the server load quite a bit over the past 3 days and it's always well under 1.00 (4 cpus) in fact it hovers between zero and 0.20, never seen amber . . . One thing I notice is their's a slight difference in price between them both and even then InnoHosting offer nearly double the bandwidth and slightly more space. You choose which one you feel most comfortable with but, be sure to post a review
