While I dont know the exact length of time I've been with Idologic, I do know it's been at least 2 years. I bounced around various hosting companies only to realized cheaper doesnt always equal better services. So I ended up signing up for their $15/month plan thanks to good old Rossman, who suggested them from the get go but I refused to pay $15/month! Well, a few months went by and I quickly outgrew my resources and bumped myself up to $30/month plan.
I love DirectAdmin and it rocks. I can't say the same for cpanel as I've used it before and it was just filled with bugs. Support has always been great and my sites have never been down for more than an hour. While their community board doesnt get that much traffic, they still do a great job of communicating with their clients. So why am I leaving?
As a sysadmin, I love to have control over my environment. I want to install what I want and while a dedicated server is a little too much for me, I opted for a VPS setup. So far so good so hopefully I dont go looking for a new provider anytime soon. Also, I've started to do some web 2.0 programming so it's important that I have particular software running that may not be available in a reseller/shared account.
Anyways, kudos to the guys at Idologic. If anyone is looking for a top notch company to do business with, give Idologic.com a chance.

I did the same thing as kubicle- started at the $15-a-month plan (which they didn't actually have as a plan at the time, they gave me that option when I solicited offers on this forum). Then I upgraded to the $30-a-month plan.
I can count on one hand the number of freak-outs I've had in those 3.5 years, and in each of those instances, they responded immediately to either my email or my phone call on their 1-800 number, and the problem was solved almost or just as fast, or sometimes there was no problem at all and it was just a glitch in the network between me and the server.
I highly recommend Idologic.

Have you decided if you're upgrading to a VPS or a dedicated server? DirectAdmin on a VPS rocks. Of course I have a few recommendations for you

| Posted by kubicle, 04-25-2007, 09:38 AM | | I'm currently on a VPS with no Control Panel. I like the CLI more than a GUI, but DA does rock. Not yet ready for a dedicated but if I do go looking for one, that's a job in itself. Too many providers to choose from.
