SHARKTECH IS DOWN AGAIN

Posted by georgeio, 04-04-2009, 09:07 PM
And there have been no announcements from anyone as to why. And their web site down and so is the helpdesk! -Disappointed Colocation Customer With 3 Servers There

Yikes. I would try to move my servers. Networks should never really go down, even if the colo company's own server(s) do.

I've heard alot of complaints about Sharktech... Where is Sharktech's datacenter located? Let's just make sure a certain US government agency hasn't done anything to their servers before we blame Sharktech for the outage.

Does anyone know what is going on? Has anyone been able to make contact with Sharktech and/or FDC?

appearently this has been happening after they decide to switch their network equipment to Cisco, they sent out an announcement email to clients couple days ago. but since they changed the equipment earlier today their network has been up & down all day.

Indeed some unforeseen network issues occurred yesterday after morning's scheduled maintenance (that had been announced to all our clients since 02/Apr/2009). All issues have been successfully resolved since last night. Additionally, another written announcement was sent earlier today informing our clients about our network's condition and providing further information about yesterday's incident. We would like to apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

Sorry to hear this, But Fdc has never impressed me. Downtime is nothing unusual with them.

well, not really, FDC has no down time for a long time. Sharktech is trying to do some network upgrades, which resulting downtime.

Another written announcement was sent last night to all clients about the previously mentioned incident. Thank you.
