problem with yum

hello i have problem with yum when i try to upgrade some errors appear # yum -y upgrade Loaded plugins: fastestmirror Determining fastest mirrors * base: ftp.plusline.de * extras: ftp.plusline.de * openvz-kernel-rhel5: openvz.just-hosting.ru * openvz-utils: openvz.just-hosting.ru * updates: ftp.plusline.de base | 1.1 kB 00:00 base/primary | 1.2 MB 00:00 base 3591/3591 extras | 2.1 kB 00:00 extras/primary_db | 175 kB 00:00 lxlabslxupdate | 253 B 00:00 download.lxlabs.com/download/update/lxgeneral/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno -1] Error importing repomd.xml for lxlabslxupdate: Damaged repomd.xml file Trying other mirror. Error: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: lxlabslxupdate. Please verify its path and try again i have tried it before i install hypervm and every thing is okay but after installing it became give that error am using centos 5.8 and datacenter is hetzner i hope to find the solution of this problem

It's might be DNS issue. Kindly check /etc/reslove.conf file.

You're right but if u wouldn't mind any suggestion about iptables firewall when i run service iptables start all vpss and services stopped, can't browsing control panels or loging to ssh till stopping ipstales

Did iptables block an ip address or port?

Flush the firewall rules and saved rules too and restart it. It should be work.

check whether you are able to access other domains. If not ensure that the name servers specified in /etc/resov.conf are correct and working.

iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 80 -j ACCEPT Please add a rule for allowing Apache port.

Hi, Could be the fact that the repository hosting service, in your case lxlabs could be down. When you run yum, it connects to its repository central to download packages. Alternatively you can try: rm -rf /var/cache/yum/* to remove any yum cache files to freshen it up so that any bloated links are closed.
