About Nameservers

Hello everyone, Just purchased my very first reseller hosting yesterday from the birthday boy =) . I'd like to find out a few things and I thought I'd ask here because it's not really a support request but more of a "I need to know" request. Anyway, so I have the nameservers provided to me and the corresponding IP addresses. I'd like to clarify on what I need to do. Using this example: I have 1 main domain (maindomain.com) and 3 client domains (1.com, 2.com, 3.com etc). From what I understand, I'll first need to go to domainsite (where I buy my domain names) and look for maindomain.com and create custom servers using the information that was given by my host namely ns1.maindomain.com, ns2.maindomain.com. After that I need to change the nameservers of maindomain.com to point to the newly created custom server. Finally, I'll have to go to each of my client domains and change the nameserver to ns1.maindomain.com and ns2.maindomain.com and then I'm set? Am I understanding this correctly?

Yes, this is correct. When you set them with your registrar, often times they are called "hostnames" or "parent nameservers." You may also have to contact your host to setup either an A entry or enter them into your reseller account in order for them to work (and they'll be able to explain what you need to do as well).
