Expire Headers

Posted by SAHostKing, 04-03-2012, 06:33 AM
Hi Guys, Is it a good idea to have expire headers to 365 days in IIS 7 for Shared Server. Also thinking of setting this on our plesk servers for Linux. When I do this as a test I score higher on Yslow compared to when not enabled. Will this cause issues when customers update their websites and will viewers see old content? Should I leave this to customers to do themselves? Not too sure how to set this up. Read a few posts on random websites and still don't fully get it. Thanks for the help

Depends on how often the content changes. Is it really static for that length of time? And see http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l...=ws.10%29.aspx
