WAMP/XAMPP win XP issue

I am not able to start WAMP or XAMPP on win XP PC I get error code 1 when I attempt to start also event logs says unable to create logs so start failed.. any remedy?

Make sure TCP/IP is configured; also, shut down/unbind any other network services that use the same ports on the same IPs. Here is an example: http://www.skonet.com/Articles_Archi...e_Machine.aspx

Hi, I noticed that you've got Skype running. By default, Skype uses ports 80 and 443 for incoming connections. You'll need to turn this off (under the Tools->Options menu somewhere) and restart Skype, then try to start the Apache service again.
