Hey guys, I bought a 512 mb vps from Hetzner, just setting up the services on it. My friend mentioned me about "siege" and I gave it a try and here is my test results. Transactions: ****************** 529 hits Availability: *************** 100.00 % Elapsed time: ***************** 6.23 secs Data transferred: ************* 0.22 MB Response time: **************** 0.13 secs Transaction rate: ************ 84.91 trans/sec Throughput: ******************* 0.03 MB/sec Concurrency: ***************** 10.78 Successful transactions: ******* 529 Failed transactions: ************* 0 Longest transaction: ********** 3.14 Shortest transaction: ********* 0.03 There is 1 core Pentium 2 cpu on vps. So do you have a chance to comment about results? The conf is pretty like default values.

What do you plan on running with the VPS? The Pentium 2 processor is pretty out dated. If you plan on running something that resource intensive, I would considering looking at a VPS with a better CPU

It's kind of an inside joke, they don't run Pentium 2's. They just renamed "QEMU Virtual CPU" or whatever it's called.

quantum thanks for explanation lol Daringhost it's VQ 7 plan, with 1 core of cpu. I am comparing my results with my friend that have Linode 512, and his concurrency is 100. And he says my siege results are pretty low.

It entirely depends on what's being served, toss varnish or nginx on and try sieging that, you're going to get much much different results..
