Strange problem with Cpanel new accounts home directory

Posted by goolex, 12-23-2011, 09:53 AM
When I am creating a new account in Cpanel its using a directory inside one of my accounts instead of /home ! instead of /home its using following path : /home/abcd/public_html/uploads/ for example if a new account's username is google its using following path : /home/abcd/public_html/uploads/google/ default home directory in cpanel is at /home The only place that I have used that path is in /etc/fstab (because the main hdd was full I added a new hdd and pointed that uploads to new hdd): but should adding this in fstab effect the default home directory of cpanel ? I tried /scripts/fixeverything but didn't help ... Thanks

Simple login in to the shell and open the file /etc/wwwacct.conf and check the HOMEDIR settings,if its not present then add the following line after the CONTACTEMAIL line and restart the cPanel HOMEDIR /home

In that case contact the server provider because without server login, can't predict anything....

check the home directory for the user after creating it using useradd or adduser command
