Problems! What to do?

Posted by LordShadow, 08-27-2006, 06:08 AM
Hello! I have problems with Webhost provider. They're servers are offline manly times for 2-5 hours and sometimes for 5 days. I'm trying to call them but they don't answer. I send them a ticket and mail but they don't answer. I have about 25 customers and the are not happy with my host. Webhost provider is Dailywebhost. It's truth that they have very cheap offer for resellers, but I expect that server will work normally. Could somebody give me advice what to do? Thanx, LS

Being the obscure thinker that I am, let me see .... perhaps moving hosts would help ?

Yes I'll cange to another webhost provider who has better server uptime. I hope that I'll get back my data form server(websites, mails, database). If they won't give me my data where shuold I call or what to do? In internet I have found that they(Dailywebhost) have give webspace to fake bank(from Nigeria). Is it possible that FBI has closed their business?

Their website is up now as far as I can see, so if your server is up, go back up your data and move on. The longer you leave it, the more upset your customers are going to be with you. Don't waste your time and effort in worrying about why they are having these issues. If your not happy with a company that you deal with .. Get out, that applies to anything from hosting companies to your mechanic.

It's possible their datacentre have shut them down if they have found illegal content on their server... but it might not of been intentional by the hosts... Grab your data, make backups, and move to a new host... check they meet your requirements and have good customer support. Liam

Yes I will grab my data as fast as server will be online and move it to new host. Thanx you all for support, LS

I can't belive... Server still doesn't work. Do somebody know this Dailywebhost? Who is director or what is his telephone number? Can I this report to FBI or other policy who will check their company? This cost me a lot of money, will they pay me back? LS

I think your best bet is to contact them first & try to work this out, if your not happy with the downtime (if any) then find another provider. If they have a SLA (service level agreement) & they follow it you may be able to get some funds back depending on the downtime (if any). Try & whois the domain (company domain) at www.domaintools.com, contact details should be listed. Goodluck

If you use Cpanel when you can get the backups of the sites from the control panel and restore it into a new server. You can find most popular hosting companies on WHT. Also I recommend what go away from too cheap hosting providers to you.

I doubt that the provider giving a small SLA refund is going to appease the OPs clients. If the claims of hours per day of sustained downtime are true, he is unlikely to need the account if he has no customers left.

Yes, I understand that, I was basically stating a few options that the client could go by to gain a refund or part refund. Obviously if the statment is true regards to the downtime its best to find another provider. The client could also file a charge-back if he or she used a credit card to pay or file a claim with paypal if any of them methods were used.

They don't have SLA they have only AUP and TOS. I checked website "domaintoll" and I saw that on server where I have account are hostet 832 other websites(I think resellers). I'll try to do "everythink" to get my data back. Thanx, LS

There's any IP that we can ping? Aparentely, they use Cpanel, therefore, you can signup with a host now and move all your contents as soon as they get the server up to your new account on a new server.

All 832 websites don't work. This is an example domain :zoobus.net If you check in domaintolls.com(but you have to be register) you will see all 832 domains. Thanx everyone I'll move my data as soon as it will be possible(when I'll get my data back). LS

You should be able to back up the data manually. Move it to a new provider!
