mambo in fantastico i get error when installing fatal error: Call to undefined method mosMenu::mosDBTable() .. php version is php 5.3.8

That looks like a Mambo function rather than a PEAR or other PHP function. I would check with the Mambo folks about this one. Often the problem is a module missing in PHP, but you will have to find out what module(s) the Mambo function is calling first. You can check for "error_log" files in the Mambo folder, if one was created.

how is missing module added in php is it adding an entry to php.ini
