Linux server security survey

Posted by secpanel, 09-11-2011, 11:24 AM
Over a period of time, one observes a number of practices of securing/hardening servers. http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/8ZJFG3N Here is a small survey to understand what are the current server security practices in the industry. It will take 3-5 minutes of your time. If you choose, you can stay anonymous by not filling in the Name/Email. Thank you! http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/8ZJFG3N

Strange survey. If I use FreeBSD (I know the title reads 'Linux', but Windows is still an option) or do not block unwanted ports, obfuscate configs, scan for root kits and prevent brute force attacks I cannot participate. Also, why ask how much my server/cloud server/VPS prices per month if you give me the option to answer No to question 1? Seems to me you didn't think this over well. Thanks for taking the time to comment. We have made the changes. You can now opt out of choosing option number 5 and other is an option in OSs. http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/8ZJFG3N Thanks once again!
