Please help on my budget

Posted by saintlei, 04-15-2006, 03:19 PM
I had free and flexible reseller accounts provided by a nice USA friend for almost 2 years, but now for some reasons, he stops the offering. And I don't want to give up the hosting biz as my part-time job, so i am planning to continue it I really did seach in google and in WHT, and I am tired of googling and doing searches on WHT page by page. cuz it always gives tons of results! that dazzled me, I can't decide So I post a thread with my request details Here it is. Datacenter located in USA, stable, fast and reliable OS: Linux/Unix Space: 5G or a little more Transfer: 50G or a little more CP: WHM/Cpanel, RVskin, fantastico... unlimited features such as accounts, domains, mysql, etc. Over selling enable Private label, Personal NS or anonymous NS Good and fast support to reseller, and I can handle my own end-user customer support myself. Price: under or about $10/mo Payment Gateway: Paypal I am not expecting to make much money, but I can't afford to loss money, at least breakeven. Maybe I am just daydreaming about such low budget reseller plan , If I am rich enough, i am sure I will go with hostgator or some other well-known bigger providers with good reputation, and I agree to "what u pay for is what u get" . But the best I can do is on my budget, so don't laugh at me. Any help or suggestion would be appreciatived. Thanks

The problem with your budget (and to what your friend can probably attest to) is that the company you'll be using needs to make money as well. With that low of a budget and with those requirements, the odds of finding something reliable are somewhat slim.

yes you can find it at the advertising forum but before you use that host do a search on the review as read before alot of complain from cheap host with very cheap rate but services alway down or something else

You won't be able find a reliable hoster for this cost. They cannot affort it. Good luck find it.

Thanks for understanding, WK-Anthony. I know my budget is too low, it is hard to find such a provider.

I have searched the offers in advertising forum, but I can't get reviews on most of the offering providers. I never heard about most of them in hosting industry. Maybe they are new companies. But would u like to recommend some new companies if u have experiences with them?

IMO, the underlying problem seems to be what you charge your customers. Estimate what the prices of a good reseller hosting plan is, and adjust your costs so that you can afford it. If you're serious about your business, you must have a business model that is sustainable.

Thank you ldcdc, I plan to use this low budget plan to host some of my own personal domains and sites, and also host some of my friends' sites for free. Meanwhile, If there are still extra spaces and transfer left, I want to gain some small customers for breakeven. Due to my former free provider stops the offer, all my own sites and their sites down. I once promised to host my friends reliably, and I can't let them down. Maybe I am not good at business

The thing to remember is your clients need their sites up. Don't settle for the price. Think quality first. Don't become another statistic and have your clients on here looking for reliable hosters because of server issues. You can get what you want, but maybe shoot for spending more. Check your costs as it shouldn't take more than a few accounts to cover your prices. Also note to "ademeker" - posting these types of requests are a no-no on these forums.

agreed, your spense is quite low, i doubt any serious hosting companies can offer what you want at the price you given

I'm not sure what your business model is, but would you ever consider raising your costs a little bit to accomodate a fair reseller budget for the needs you specified? You could find a good credible host for double your budget around ($20) per month

I found the costs of these companies are not too expensive, and most of them are well-known here. varhosting, imhosted, virtuosonetsolutions, my-e-space, hosttitan, sjrhosting, allreseller, dathorn, hostww, 247-host some of them seem have the features and budgets almost fit my needs, but I still can't decide, so please help me review them if u know about them Thanks
