Reseller similar to ResellerZoom?

Posted by AS-Richard, 01-29-2006, 11:30 PM
Any suggestions for a reseller similar in price to ResellerZoom? I want to stay with cPanel, and like their anonymous end user support. Basically, I'm not sure what they're doing or not doing, but the mail server on the box I'm on (RSallen) has been hijacked seven times in the past 8 months. I find this out when I go to send e-mail to particular customers of mine and get a bounce back saying that my IP/domain is on their blacklist for spam. RZ has admitted each time that a hacker took over their mail server and caused the entire server to be blacklisted through particular ISPs, they're sorry, etc. but I don't have the time to deal with it anymore. It's almost a gamble now to see if I can e-mail particular customers - really just wishing and hoping the e-mail goes through. I understand it's not their fault as they're not the ones doing it, but seven times in eight months? This is getting insane. So what are your recommendations? Thanks!

You may want to consider asking them to transfer your account to a different server.

I wonder why/how they could get hacked so easily... (just curious from your post..)

I don't think it's a matter of hacking...I think it's a matter of having one of their resellers letting a spammer on the server. It's somewhat hard to control. You can't verify each account that goes on a particular server. You have to have a particular amount of trust in your resellers in that they'll take care of their accounts and who they sign up. I would try to ask them to be put on a different server, or try to work something out with them. It seems like you're happy besides that issue, so why go thru the hassle of moving out?

Hi, If you don't mind and when you get a chance can you please PM me the ticket number for these issues so that I can review the issue and response given. I will also be happy to relocate your account onto another server if this is still ongoing. Though fully preventing a server from getting blacklisted is next to impossible on a shared environment we are working on ways of furthur limiting a spammer from mass mailing through our server.

That's most definitely the case, I think it would be a much better idea to just get re-located on a different ResellerZoom server.

I do not know why so many people believe this. It is quite simple to stop any mass mailing from your servers and continue to allow email from root. With a simple script I have never let an attack through.
