cpanel with mysql 4.0,and mysql can not work

Posted by ttgt, 05-30-2011, 07:50 AM
Hi, i need to use mysql 4.0 on my server, after downgrade mysql from 5.0 to 4.0, i restore my cpanel account to the server, all mysql page get error, for instance, workpress Error establishing a database connection This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can't contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host's database server is down. Are you sure you have the correct username and password? Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname? Are you sure that the database server is running? If you're unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support Forums. is it any issue make it ? thanx

If this is happening on a production server and you need it fixed ASAP you should hire a server management company as going back and forward on the forums can be time consuming for you and your clients.

Any reason in specific you don't want to use MySQL 5? It may be less effort to update the scripts to use it, rather than trying to use MySQL 4.
