Dotable

What are people's experience with Dotable? I've been a HTTPme customer for a few years now, and remember those good 'ol days when Bob was in charge! Hes great! Which is why I am questioning Dotable...wouldn't mind being put back under his wings again.

Well if you know Aussie Bob then you know what kind of company he runs. Being that its a fairly new company you may not find many reviews as of yet.... other then all the happy httpme'ers from the past.

I've been using dotable.com for a while now. No complaints (with a slight glance at the price). I don't use support much, besides the initial set-up. They were pretty flexible, when it came to payment (I paid with money order), replies to questions were usually about a few hours, and always seems to be done by Bob himself (maybe just because I am in the same time zone, I have never tried weird hours). Servers to date have been very stable, and I can access my site when I needed to. As far as I can observe, network speed is good (but poor pings from Australia as the servers are in the US), server load is low and the server is up most of the time (haven't found a time when it isn't) That's my short review. Only thing is that it isn't really long yet. Just a few months

It looks like Bob is building another great company there.

Hello. I just want to affirm how great a guy Bob is. We've done business with him (designing something for the website) and he's been an excellent client!

Working passionately on that! Things are much different from my first time around, but an adventure and a priviledge none the less. Thanks everyone.

What things are different Bob? I'm interested to see what is going to be done differently. I've been with HTTPme for years, but it was only you who made HTTPme, I'd be more than willing to be back in your hands.

Was just about to sign up for an account with Dotable today, but just noticed the limiting cap on domains that can be hosted. When did this come into play?

Posted by Aussie Bob, 11-29-2005, 08:18 AM
Scenes, The domain number cap is just me tweaking the model somewhat. I'm looking for perfection. I'm rolling out some pretty heavy local advertising in Jan 06, and the unlimited domain model never sat right with me.

Yeah, just 10 domains for basic account.... but it's come with 5 free IP's.

Sorry, still doing some tweaking. Will have that changed shortly . . . .

I'm a happy customer of HTTPme too, but i don't understand the difference between HTTPMe and Dotable. The same control panel, the same hosting plans. Why all these under the name "Dotable" and not under the name "HTTPMe" ?

Aussie Bob doesn't own HTTPMe anymore, he sold it and has set up Dotable.
