Another nightmare story regarding Ace-Host.net, Need help plz..

Posted by TheDon, 11-26-2005, 09:07 AM
Well I have quickly scanned the forum and have seen I am not the first or more than likely be the last to have run into serious problems with ace-host.net. Keep a long story short( or try too) as you all might have heard this before. I have been with ace-host.net nearly 2 years using there reseller plus package, I have/had 1 5customers and one customer hosting 10 addon domains under my control, only to find out this friday at approx friday 4.30am GMT+1 that all the sites were down, also note that 10 of the sites were on dedicated IP address. Well I did the normal contacted them through the ticket system at 6.30am GMT+1 approx were I then wait over an hour for a reply. Well this went on for hours with promises and also a post that no files had been lost, and thing will be back up in a few hours, but 19 hours into this nightmare I get a genral post that informs me basically that they only have the /home dicectory and everything else is lost this would have been at Saturday 1.45am GMT+1 appox, meaning all databases and forwarding e-mails, addon, sub domains etc etc are gone. Also to add salt to the wound they are now saying they dont expect to hae the server up for another 24 hours even. My dilemia is all of the sites under my resellers agreement are DB driven (that is what I do and then host the sites for the customers) even though I have told all my customers they are in charge of there back up natually I bet they hae not done it. Anway, to add to this I see from a number of post ace-host have posted in the past that they were going to implememt a back up system, yet this happens to me now, also I have pointed out to them in 2 different tickets and pasted the servver status stats which we in the red for over 2 months also another partitsion as well, were there replied it was not a problem, even though I questioned them on this, yet now these drives I pointed out are the among the dead drives. I Have also requested on a number of times about a back up option were me as a reseller could back up data of my customers and I am informed that option is not avaliable. Regarding the above since I am not from the US but were I come from, the lieing the cheating and the disregard to warning concerning data were ignored would I have a case to take them to court and clam the loses which are massive and still growing ?? First Most and important, call it looking into the future, but on the friday night before this crash I had this feeling I should use the cpanel full back up on my main customers site which I did, which hold 9 domains and everything under it. What I need help now with is a good company quiclky which uses cpanel, whm and will be able to resore this back up with a fixed IP (it is 1 account with 8 addon domains) So I can get this mains client up ASAP natually I dont believe a word ace-host are saying so this is my plan B which I need done yesterday. So if some one can drop me some names which offer the same space 10gb and bandwidth 100gb approx as was the ace-host account I have. Also whould need it so I could have custom nameservers this way since I control the name servers I should be able t transfer all the sites over too the new hosting without the client having to change there name server for the domains. And above all I want a telephone number for support . If anyone can help great and if this post helps people to aviod ace-host good as well. I will keep you post on what is going on regarding ace host, but I have not got a reply from them for over 6 hours now because I asked for the address of there lawyer LOL Thank you. P.S. Sorry for spelling and grammar I have not slept for 24 hours and are just trying to get this working ASAP again. Last edited by TheDon; 11-26-2005 at 09:13 AM.

I have been bitten that is for sure, just now try to salvage what is left, as I mentioned I have main clients backup but as of yet ace-host.net my acount is not back up, and to be host they can go to hell, what I need to do right away is find another reseller which offers backup, also supports cpanel and whm and with telephone support hopefully and not a nightmare which I am going through at the moment. I am still looking but hoping for some tips in the right direction for another reseller which offer pretty much the same as ace-host.not!!!!!!! too ad to the above, since I have control over the dns for the name namer address( I had private ones) which all I had to do is add the ip addess in my dns manage I am thinking if I can get a new supplier ASAP which offers this feture I should at least be able to get my main customers domains and sites back up without him having to do anything.

It is very good that you have at least the backups of your customers. Don't wait your account to come back up but find a different company, at least temporarily. Also, again you say that you are looking for a host that offers backup; just keep in-mind that even if a company says that, you should still ALWAYS keep your own backup. One more thing, seems like you did not do your research this time, that company has a lot of negative reviews. Don't make the same mistake twice. Good luck .
