Shared SSL on Helm Control Panel

Posted by Corey Bryant, 04-04-2011, 07:46 AM
Preface) - I am not the hosting company longer - have not been for awhile since I sold the business for health reasons. I moved to another hosting company about a month ago. They have a Shared SSL on the Helm Control Panel, but I cannot remember how to use it, etc. I went over to Parallels (I think they might have bought Helm), but webhostingautomation.com is still there as well (well the forums). I looked around for a way to use the SSL, but the articles were geared to hosting company and not customers. Anyone have a link on how to use / activate a shared SSL on the Helm Control Panel? Thanks!

Hi Corey, I would open a support ticket with your host for specifics. You didn't indicate whether you're talking about Helm 3.x or 4.x, so the instructions may vary. For Helm 3.x, it's pretty straight forward. 1. Assuming your package has the assigned quote to enable SSL (which might not be the case), look for the 'Shared SSL' icon within the 'Domain Settings' menu. 2. You'll only have one option which will be to install (enable) shared SSL. 3. Upon doing so you'll be given the correct URL to use. Example: https://some.sharedssldomain.com/yourdomain-com/ If you're not seeing any options within the domain settings menu it's most likely that the package has not been assigned sufficient quota for shared SSL (could be an add-on or other additional item). Good luck - Wayne
