JODOHOST problem

Posted by raj1144, 08-17-2005, 09:06 AM
Re: A very satisfied OR NOT customer! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BEWARE! if you ever have to cancel your reseller account with JODOHOST! I had no other problem with them except I did not like hsphere and I wanted to have control over File & Directory Permission and able to set virtual path. So I decided to leave them. Their cancellation form says please fill out this form and your account will be deleted at the end of your hosting term. Since my term was ending at the end of the month, I filled out cancellation form on 8/14 and Guess what THEY just deleted my account with 5-7 websites on 8/15. Since it was error on their part they should refund me for half month. Instead they like a broken record keep repeating their refund policy. Shame on you JODOHOST!!!!! What a good way to say good bye for ever.. for 8 dollars. may be because it's almost 350 rupees!!!!

HSphere allows you to set permissions on folders and files (if on a Unix plan).

I am on Windows plan. I am looking at Plesk or Ensim control panel Windows Reseller Plan. Any good Hosting company??

There are no permissions unders windows for files and folders that needs to be done to run your scripts. > of course there are security permissions but these are not chmod/chown Last edited by Mahmoud; 08-17-2005 at 11:14 AM.

Check out the offers section here at WHT. Usually some good stuff there. Also HostQuote feature.

This issue was handled and fully explained on our forums where the customer posted. They have been refunded, our billing dept was just handling the request with standard policy, the customer went to the forums and it was resolved. The customer could have also asked for a supervisor on phone or livechat to have the issue resolved.

If they deleted it on 8/15, and you filled the cancellation form out on 8/14, why didn't you back your sites up while you were filling out a cancellation form? Don't sound right, and you're lucky Jodohost refunded you.

Stephen, I was told YASH was supervisor and I did talked to him about this on live CHAT and I also emailed your billing dept. and I posted on forum only after receiving standard response from them. Thank you for resolving. Look at my response at JODOHOST forum. Raj

If they deleted it on 8/15, and you filled the cancellation form out on 8/14, why didn't you back your sites up while you were filling out a cancellation form? Their Form(which has been NOW changed) said Account will be deleted at the end of hosting period, which was end of the month. I though I had 10-15 days to backup.

Lesson learned then, eh? Most hosts will cease all communication with their ex-customers. Seems you left a good one

I never said they were not good. I just stated the facts. You should read my post at their forum also.

I know what you mean, though what I mean is: This is a good lesson for you. No matter what their policy is, if you're going to cancel, you better make a back-up before you finish the cancellation form, just in case. Though I'm happy that everything worked out for you, and I wish you the best of luck with whichever endeavours you choose to part-take in.

Thanks, for clearing that up. Yes, Good lesson. Only reason I posted was so it does not happen to others.

Raj, as I explained to you its our standard policy to close accounts after you fill out the cancellation policy. You however have the option of filling out the cancellation form upto 48 hours before the end of your current term. The cancellation form was incorrectly worded (it was recently updated by our designer) and I did appologize for that. We offered you a free month of service, complete assistance in setting up your account as well as a backup of all your files and databases. However, you refused. I believe we did eventually also give you a refund. This is not a question why we'd like to withhold $8 from a customer, rather a question of whether we adhere to our policies. I anyway wish you luck with whichever host you choose. Last edited by Yash-JH; 08-17-2005 at 08:37 PM.

Now let see If Stephen and Yash work for the same company or not. Stephen says If I had asked to speak to supervisor It would have resolved. Stephen, Is Yash Supervisor or NOT? If you guys had worded it wrong, Why don't you take responsibility instead of Just As I said earlier Keep running the Broken Tape. Learn to accept the TRUTH.

Raj, This was handled already, you got your refund and we modified the page accordingly.

I thought so too. But then Yash is making it look like it was my fault. Read the chatlog I sent to Atul. When YASH offered me Free Month. I said If you can activate sites from backup just do it until the end of the month. And he said I will have to Redo it.

Posted by swflnetworks, 08-18-2005, 12:18 AM
Raj, plain and simple. You should have backed up your own servers. Take it as a loss and move on. You were refunded. They changed the site to better-word the policy as it was obviously confusing. What more do you want? Just take it as a loss and move on.

We cannot recreate your sites since we do not have these details off-hand and every account is configured uniquely by our customers. You'd need to reconfigure them (and we could provide any assistance in this that is needed) and we'd restore the sites upon request. I also offered you backup copies if you wanted your dbs and web content to move to another host. I said submit a ticket with the domains and databases and we'll email you a backup copy. I also said we'd give you a free month. but you instead demanded a refund and you got one. If you want back up copies, please do what I said and you'll get them too I did appologize to you about the incorrect wording in the chat you had with me. I also appologized to here. Where have we been inconsistent or where have we lied? Stephen has not been aware of the entire details of this and he was commenting based on your forum post.

When have we not taken responsibility. I apologised to you and accepted it was a mistake in the chat session you had with me. All your demands have been fulfilled. If there is anything else I can do for you, please email me and I'd be happy to look into it.
