Another Sago Outage

Another Sago Outage Did anyone notice another Sago power outage, this time around 8:45 a.m. Eastern? This is at least the 4th power outage this year. It was short, but enough to have completely powered down our entire rack.

power problems are quite common in their tampa facility. __________________ ███ - WireSix - Dedicated Servers, Custom Configurations, Colocation - Celebrating 4 years!

I know, we've been there almost 5 years. It has gotten FAR worse this year than it has ever been. A quick mental check brings to mind that we've had as many power outages in 2008, as we've had cumulatively since we moved in. They didn't have this many power issues even when they were in the midst of their major expansion in 2004.

We moved everything out of there 3-4 years ago due to their power failures and network outages that were commonplace at that time. Glad to be as far away from there as possible. __________________ ███ - WireSix - Dedicated Servers, Custom Configurations, Colocation - Celebrating 4 years!

Our contract ends in February, and we've already gotten quotes from other providers in the area. The only thing that really bothers me is the sheer amount of effort to readdress everything. We don't have our own allocation, and moving to new IP space would be very time consuming-- not to mention the labor of moving all the equipment across town, and the downtime.

If you plan on multi-homing you can qualify for a direct allocation from ARIN and renumbering would be a thing of the past. __________________ ███ - WireSix - Dedicated Servers, Custom Configurations, Colocation - Celebrating 4 years!
