Rockmyweb outage?

Posted by ThatScriptGuy, 12-07-2008, 05:04 PM
Rockmyweb outage? Two different servers I have with rockmyweb are essentially down. Cannot FTP or check mail, and IF any of the websites on either server load, they load incompletely and VERY slow. Can anyone else confirm this? Additionally, it seems that RockMyWeb hosts their company website on their own servers, so I've got no way to ask them about it. __________________ Kevin CacklerThat Script Guy, LLC (501) 358-4064

Confirmed for my 2 VPSs also. This has been ongoing for 30 minutes at this point. Seems to be some sort of network problem - I assume DDOS, because some of my packets are getting through now, but it is incredibly slow.

They are a reseller of FDC. I believe their internap network is down at the moment.

I am thinking the problem is inside the DC though - my trace goes through very cleanly into IPs in that data space, then dies around the rockmyweb server/router area. We shall see though.

Received this from FDC: Quote: There is currently a network issue with our Internap Segment. We are working hard and expect resolve it shortly. Thank you for your patience. -- FDCservers.net Last edited by sly596 : 12-07-2008 at 05:04 PM. Reason: Quote

My VPS was down for 12 hours. Can you give an estimation of when the service will be restored?

Still down here. Clients moved to other VPS (except my poor mom). I am seriously disappointed that nobody has commented though.

Yeah, we're down coming up on 18 hours, with no word at all with increasingly unhappy clients.

Hello, We can't really do much, just waiting for the problem to be solved above our head, Internap is usually very reliable but things do happen. A full network issue is one of the things our grid cannot protect you from but we hope to have everything back as soon as possible. We will be offering service credits for the downtime, while I know this won't please everyone, we do our best to keep people happy so feel free to contact me devon@rockmyweb.net. __________________devon@rockmyweb.net - RockMyWeb Networks

These things do happen and one of the main things for me, thank you Devon, is that at least I can now say I've been able to speak to someone and verify that its an external issue (though I personally knew that from rockmyweb.net) being down. At the risk of getting greedy, and explicitly without asking for anything remotely binding on you, do you have any ballpark ideas on timing? An hour? 6? 24?

From the looks of it everything should be back in the next few hours. __________________devon@rockmyweb.net - RockMyWeb Networks

75% of our servers are online now, if your vps is still down after 30 minutes please either pm or email me, devon@rockmyweb.net. Thanks. __________________devon@rockmyweb.net - RockMyWeb Networks
